At Fortuna Spiegeltent, Wexford Quay · Wexford Quay, Wexford Town, Co. Wexford
Keith Barry plays the Spiegeltent on the opening Friday of the festival’s second week with Unhinged, billed by the box office as the final shows of the run. Barry is the best known mentalist working in Ireland, a hypnotist and brain hacker whose television work and international touring have made his live shows a fixture on the Irish autumn circuit. His stage act mixes mind reading, suggestion and stunt work with a heavy dose of audience participation, so a share of the night depends on who is in the room and what they are willing to be talked into.
The Spiegeltent is an unusual room for this kind of show. It is a mirrored travelling pavilion pitched on Wexford Quay for the duration of the festival, with a small stage and the audience packed close in around it, which suits an act built on reading a crowd at close quarters. Barry’s show goes on at 7pm, with a second, separate ticketed show following later the same night in the same tent. Wexford Spiegeltent Festival runs across the second half of October and shares the town with Wexford Festival Opera, so the quays are unusually busy for the fortnight. Several shows in the 2026 programme have already sold out, and the festival flags limited availability on others, so book rather than turn up on spec.
The Spiegeltent is pitched on Wexford Quay, on the waterfront in the centre of Wexford town, a few minutes on foot from Main Street and the Bullring. O’Hanrahan station on Redmond Square is about a ten-minute walk along the quays, served by Irish Rail from Dublin Connolly and Rosslare Europort. By road it is roughly an hour and forty minutes from Dublin on the M11 and N11, and about 45 minutes from Rosslare Europort on the N25. Use the town-centre car parks, as quayside parking fills fast during festival fortnight.
