Jamie McIntyre at Wexford Spiegeltent Festival

At Fortuna Spiegeltent · The Quay, Wexford Town, Co. Wexford

A comedian performing on a small stage inside a mirrored spiegeltent

What to Expect

Jamie McIntyre is billed in the comedy strand of the Wexford Spiegeltent Festival on Saturday 31 October 2026, sharing the closing Halloween night of the programme with Neil Delamere. The festival lists the act by name without a show title, and no further description is published on the programme page, so the booking link is the place to check what the evening involves and what time it starts.

The venue is the draw as much as the bill. The Fortuna Spiegeltent is a mirrored, cabaret-style wooden pavilion erected on Wexford’s quayfront for the duration of the festival, with the audience gathered close around a small stage rather than ranked back in rows. It is the room that carries the festival’s whole programme, from contemporary music and trad through to comedy and cabaret, and it gives a comedy set a very different character to a theatre booking: the front rows are within arm’s reach of the stage, and the acoustics favour talking rather than shouting.

Falling on the last night of the run, and on Halloween itself, this is one of the busier evenings in the festival calendar. Deirdre O’Kane plays the tent the night before, Neil Delamere is on the same closing Saturday, and the earlier comedy dates in the programme are Keith Barry on 23 October and Chris Kent on 24 October. Wexford Festival Opera occupies the town across the same fortnight, so hotel rooms, guesthouses and restaurant tables are all under pressure through the second half of October. Individual show times and ticket prices are not printed on the festival programme page and are confirmed only through the ticket link, so settle those before booking travel.

Getting There

The Fortuna Spiegeltent stands on Wexford’s quayfront in the town centre, a few minutes’ walk from Main Street, the Bullring and the National Opera House. Wexford’s O’Hanrahan station on Redmond Square is at the north end of the quays, served by Irish Rail from Dublin Connolly and Rosslare Europort, and Bus Eireann and Wexford Bus both serve the town. Drivers come in on the N11 and M11 from Dublin, roughly an hour and forty minutes, or the N25 from Rosslare Europort, about forty-five minutes. Quay-front car parks are the closest option but fill early on a Halloween Saturday.
