What to Expect

Maigh Cuilinn Basketball Club open their 2026/27 Domino’s Men’s Division One campaign at home on Saturday 3 October 2026, hosting Tipp Talons at the Kingfisher Sports Centre on the University of Galway campus. Tip-off is 7:00pm. Division One sits directly below the Super League in the national club structure, and the Moycullen club is one of two Galway sides in the men’s section, the other being Maree in Oranmore.

The Galway derby is away this year: Maigh Cuilinn travel to Maree at Calasanctius College in Oranmore on Saturday 10 October at 7:00pm. The other early road trips are to Carrick Cruisers at the Phoenix Centre on Saturday 24 October at 7:30pm and Portlaoise Panthers at St Mary’s Hall on Saturday 21 November at 7:00pm.

Getting There

The Kingfisher Sports Centre is on the University of Galway campus at Newcastle, on the western side of the city and roughly 25 minutes on foot from Eyre Square along the Corrib. City bus routes running out the Newcastle Road towards the university and University Hospital Galway stop close to the campus entrance. There is parking on campus, and it is far quieter on a Saturday evening than during the college week.
