What to Expect

The Whileaways come home to Galway to launch their newest album, playing the Town Hall Theatre main stage with a band behind them. The group built their reputation on original songwriting and close vocal arrangements, and Hot Press has described them as being among the finest singers in the country. Their live shows tend to move between three-part harmony pieces where the arrangement carries everything and looser, warmer material with the full band.

An album launch in a home town is a particular kind of night, and this one lands in the same room where the group played the theatre’s thirtieth anniversary event in February 2026. Expect new songs from the record alongside the material audiences already know, and a room largely made up of people who have followed the band for years. Tickets are €28 and the show starts at 8pm.

Getting There

Town Hall Theatre is on Courthouse Square at the city end of the Salmon Weir Bridge, a five minute walk from Eyre Square along Eglinton Street and Woodquay. Drivers reach Galway on the M6 and N6 from Dublin, Athlone and Ballinasloe, or the M18 and N18 from Limerick, Gort and Ennis. The Cathedral car park across the bridge is the closest large car park, with the Corrib Shopping Centre multi-storey nearby on Eglinton Street. Ceannt Station handles trains and Bus Éireann coaches and is roughly ten minutes on foot, and city buses to Salthill, Knocknacarra and Oranmore run from Eyre Square.
