At Monroe's Live · Dominick Street Upper, Galway, Co. Galway
Michael McGovern plays Monroe’s Live on Sunday 25 October 2026, with doors at 7:00 PM. The show falls on the Sunday of the Halloween bank holiday weekend, when Galway city is at its busiest with the Macnas parade and the Gaillimh Ah-Boo festival running the same weekend.
Monroe’s Live is the gig room beside Monroe’s Tavern on Dominick Street Upper in the West End. It is a standing venue with a raised stage and bar service to the side. A 7:00 PM Sunday door is an early start by Monroe’s standards, which works well on a bank holiday weekend when many people are out earlier in the day. A second show, a Daft Punk experience, follows in the same building at 9:00 PM that night, so the room turns over between the two. The date and door time here are taken from the venue’s own published gig calendar, which does not carry a ticket price for this show.
Monroe’s is on Dominick Street Upper in Galway’s West End, a ten-minute walk from Eyre Square across the Wolfe Tone Bridge. Bank holiday weekend traffic and street closures around Halloween events make driving into the centre awkward, so use the Fairgreen or Jury’s Inn multi-storey car parks and walk, or come in by bus on the Fr Griffin Road and Dominick Street routes. Galway Ceannt railway and bus station is about fifteen minutes away on foot across the river.
