At Monroe's Live · Dominick Street Upper, Galway, Co. Galway
How I Became A Wave play Monroe’s Live on Friday 6 November 2026, with doors at 7:00 PM. The show opens the venue’s November programme, which runs on through a Rory Gallagher tribute, a Guns N’ Roses tribute and a trip hop and electronic tribute night later in the month.
Monroe’s Live is the purpose-built music room beside Monroe’s Tavern on Dominick Street Upper in Galway’s West End. It is a standing venue with a raised stage, house PA and bar service along the side, holding a few hundred people. The 7:00 PM door is earlier than the venue’s usual weekend start, so the set lands in the first half of the evening rather than running late. The date and door time here are taken directly from the Monroe’s published gig calendar, which does not list a ticket price for this show, so check the cost with the venue before travelling.
Monroe’s is on Dominick Street Upper in the West End, roughly ten minutes on foot from Eyre Square across the Wolfe Tone Bridge and up Dominick Street Lower. Drivers coming into the city on the N6 should use the Fairgreen or Jury’s Inn multi-storey car parks, since West End on-street parking is scarce on a Friday evening. City bus services along Fr Griffin Road and Dominick Street stop within a minute of the venue, and Galway Ceannt railway and bus station is about fifteen minutes’ walk away across the river.
