A Tree of Hope, Paint and Sip Evening for Galway Hospice

At WYLDE Cafe · Forster Street, Galway, Co. Galway, H91 PY7E

Canvases and paints set out for a guided painting evening in a Galway cafe

What to Expect

A Tree of Hope is a two-hour guided painting evening at WYLDE Cafe on Forster Street, run in aid of Galway Hospice. Everyone in the room paints the same subject, a Tree of Hope, and Lorraine from ArtClub.ie takes the group through it step by step. No prior experience is expected or required, which is the point of the format: the instruction is close enough that people who have not held a brush since school still leave with a finished canvas.

The ticket covers all art materials, the tuition and two glasses of prosecco, and you take your painting home at the end. The evening runs from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday 3 September 2026. It is organised by Connacht Hospitality Group, and all proceeds go to Galway Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care in the home and at its inpatient unit in Renmore for people across Galway city and county. Spaces are limited by the size of the cafe, so booking ahead matters more here than at a larger venue.

Getting There

Forster Street runs off the northeast corner of Eyre Square, so WYLDE Cafe is a two minute walk from the square and about five minutes from Ceannt bus and rail station. Anyone arriving by intercity bus or train is effectively already there. Drivers should use the multi-storey car parks at Eyre Square Centre or Corrib Great Southern rather than trying for on-street parking on Forster Street itself, which is limited and time-restricted. City bus routes from Salthill, Knocknacarra, Renmore, Oranmore and Ballybrit all terminate at or pass through Eyre Square, and the walk from there is flat and well lit.
