At The Ardhowen · Dublin Road, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh
A Night With The Country Stars puts six Irish country acts on the same bill for one show. The named line-up is Brendan Shine, Patrick Feeney, John Glenn, Gary Gamble, Owen Mac and Boxcar Brian, with Keltic Storm Band providing the backing throughout. That spread covers several generations of the circuit, from Shine’s long run of ballroom and television hits through to the newer end of the Irish country scene.
The format is a rotating showcase rather than a support act and a headliner, so each performer takes a slot backed by the same band. The Ardhowen describes a mix of classic country favourites, popular hits and lively performances, with humour worked through the night and the whole thing pitched as suitable for all ages. A smoke or haze machine is used during the show.
The Ardhowen is on the Dublin Road on the southern approach to Enniskillen, set above Lough Erne with free parking at the venue. Drivers from Dublin and Cavan come up the A509 through Belturbet before joining the A4, Belfast traffic runs the M1 and A4, and the A32 comes south from Omagh. Enniskillen bus station on Wellington Road covers Ulsterbus and Bus Eireann routes including the Dublin coach, and it is a short taxi ride from there to the theatre. A six-act country bill on a Friday in November will pull a crowd from across the border counties, so book early and arrive early.
