Michael English with Special Guest Paddy Treacy

At The Ardhowen · Dublin Road, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh

Irish country singer performing at the piano on the Ardhowen stage in Enniskillen

What to Expect

Michael English brings his Irish concert tour to the Ardhowen with an all-new show built around his own biggest hits. The set widens out from there into Irish classics and country favourites, with the billing naming Hank Williams, Elvis Presley and Charley Pride among the writers and performers whose songs get an airing. English is a pianist as well as a singer, and the show includes piano-led renditions rather than leaving him at the front of the stage with a microphone all night.

Paddy Treacy is the special guest. Treacy is a familiar name on the Irish country circuit and also appears in Fermanagh earlier in the season, so this is a double bill of two working country acts rather than a headliner with a token support. The Ardhowen listing highlights energy, musicianship and audience connection as the marks of the show. Smoke or haze effects and flashing lights are used.

Getting There

The Ardhowen is on the Dublin Road just outside Enniskillen town centre, with its own free car park and a lough-side setting. Coming from Dublin or Cavan you take the A509 and then the A4, from Belfast the M1 and A4, and from Omagh the A32 south. Enniskillen bus station on Wellington Road is the local hub for Ulsterbus and Bus Eireann, with the Dublin coach among the services, and taxis run the short distance to the theatre. A big-name country night at the Ardhowen fills the car park, so allow a spare fifteen minutes rather than arriving on the hour.
