At Various club grounds · Various club grounds, Co. Fermanagh
Both grades of the Fermanagh Reserve Football Championship reach the quarter-final stage on Saturday 15 August 2026, with all seven ties throwing in together at 6:30 PM. In Grade 1, Irvinestown St Molaise host Teemore Shamrocks at St Molaise’s Park, Kinawley Brian Borus host Derrygonnelly Harps at Patrick McManus Park, Enniskillen Gaels host Devenish St Mary’s at Brewster Park, and Roslea Shamrocks meet Aghadrumsee St Macartans at a venue still to be confirmed. In Grade 2, Erne Gaels Belleek host Belnaleck Art MacMurroughs at Páirc na hEirne, Ederney St Joseph’s host Brookeborough Heber McMahons at the Ederney grounds, and Lisnaskea Emmetts host Tempo Maguires at Emmet Park.
Reserve football is the second-team competition for Fermanagh’s senior clubs, played to the same rules and at the same grounds as the first-team game, and it is where squad players, younger footballers coming out of minor and older club men still going get their competitive knockout football. Grade 1 and Grade 2 split the field so that clubs face broadly comparable opposition. From this round it is straight knockout, with the winners going into semi-finals later in the season. Crowds are made up of club members and families rather than travelling support, admission is straightforward and the football tends to be open and physical, played at a real pace on a Saturday evening.
Enniskillen is the most accessible venue of the seven. Brewster Park is on the eastern side of the town, which is about 90 minutes from Belfast on the A4 and about 70 minutes from Sligo on the N16, with Translink and Bus Eireann coach services into Enniskillen. Irvinestown lies north of the town on the A32, Lisnaskea south-east on the A34, and Belleek at the far western end of Lower Lough Erne on the Donegal border. Kinawley and Ederney are rural grounds with on-site parking and no useful public transport, so plan on driving.
