What to Expect

St Michael’s Bridge Club runs its weekly session every Monday evening at Fermanagh House in Enniskillen, one of the longest-standing card nights in the county. Founded in 1963, the club is affiliated to the Northern Ireland Bridge Union and posts its results and news on its own website, a level of record-keeping that reflects a genuinely competitive scene rather than a casual drop-in. Players are asked to be seated by 6:50pm for a 7:00pm start, and the format is duplicate bridge, where the same hands are replayed at different tables so skill rather than the luck of the deal decides the result.

The club is currently running its Summer Open Bridge sessions, with the last of the run on Monday 24 August 2026 before the main season resumes in September. Members and visitors play a set number of duplicate boards over the evening with a break partway through, scores are compared across tables at the end, and results go up on the club website afterwards. Annual membership costs £20, payable by the end of September, while a single night’s play costs £5, so a newcomer can try a session without committing. Bridge is a partnership game, so visitors without a regular partner should contact the club in advance to be paired. The season also takes in cup competitions and interclub matches under the Northern Ireland Bridge Union.

Getting There

Fermanagh House is on Broadmeadow Place in Enniskillen town centre, with parking available beside the building. It is an easy walk from the main shopping streets and from the bus station on Wellington Road. Drivers reach Enniskillen on the A4 from Belfast, Dungannon and Sligo, and on the A32 from Omagh, and evening parking in the town centre is straightforward once the daytime traffic has cleared.
