Enniskillen Sarcoidosis Support Group

At Fermanagh House · Broadmeadow Place, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, BT74 7HR

A small support group meeting in a community centre room

What to Expect

The Enniskillen Sarcoidosis Support Group meets on the first Monday of every month at Fermanagh House, bringing together people living with sarcoidosis, an uncommon inflammatory disease that can affect the lungs, skin, eyes and other organs and is often slow and difficult to diagnose. Founded in 2011, the group has grown from a handful of local members into an organisation with more than 200 members supporting people across Northern Ireland and beyond, and it describes itself as the only currently active group of its kind in the country.

Meetings are informal, giving members a chance to share how they manage symptoms, treatment and the day-to-day reality of a condition that many GPs and even some specialists rarely encounter. Beyond the monthly meeting, the group has begun organising bigger set-piece events: in April 2026 it held its first patient day at Fermanagh House, a full day from 9:30am to 3:00pm with medical specialists and patient speakers, open to anyone affected by sarcoidosis from across Ireland rather than only the regular membership. The group is a registered charity, which has let it expand beyond peer support into awareness raising and education for the public and the medical community. The monthly meeting remains the backbone of its work, giving members a dependable point of contact rather than relying on occasional larger events.

Getting There

Fermanagh House is on Broadmeadow Place in Enniskillen town centre, close to the main shopping streets, with parking beside the building. Drivers reach Enniskillen on the A4 from Belfast, Dungannon and Sligo, and on the A32 from Omagh. Enniskillen bus station on Wellington Road is a short walk and connects the town with services across Fermanagh, Tyrone and the border counties, which matters for a group drawing members from well beyond Enniskillen itself.
