Galloon Parish Auction, Newtownbutler

At Galloon Parish Church Hall · Galloon Parish Church Hall, Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh

Parish hall fundraising auction in County Fermanagh

What to Expect

The Church of Ireland Diocese of Clogher lists Galloon Parish Auction for Saturday 12 September 2026 in the church hall, with an appeal for support from across the district. Galloon is the parish that serves Newtownbutler and the countryside running down the eastern side of Upper Lough Erne towards the Monaghan border, and the auction is a parish fundraiser rather than a commercial sale room. Lots at this kind of sale come from parishioners and neighbours clearing out sheds, gardens and kitchens, and the money raised goes back into parish funds.

The diary entry is deliberately brief. The diocese has not published a start time, a viewing time, a lot list or an admission charge, and no catalogue has gone online. Anyone planning to bid seriously, or hoping to drop goods in beforehand, should make contact through the parish or the diocesan office rather than turn up on spec. It is worth knowing that this is one of three Fermanagh parish fundraisers falling on the same Saturday: the diocesan diary also carries a coffee morning in Clabby Church Hall from 10am to 12.30pm in aid of the Children’s Heartbeat Trust and the Royal Victoria Hospital, and afternoon tea in Lisbellaw Parish Centre from 2pm to 4.30pm.

Good to Know

  • Saturday 12 September 2026, Galloon Parish Church Hall, Newtownbutler.
  • The start time was not published in the diocesan forthcoming diary at the time of writing. Check with the parish before travelling.
  • No admission charge is listed. Bring cash if you intend to bid.
  • Run as a parish fundraiser within the Church of Ireland Diocese of Clogher.
  • Two other Fermanagh parish fundraisers run the same day, at Clabby and Lisbellaw, so a circuit of all three is possible.

Getting There

Newtownbutler sits on the A34, the main road running south east out of Enniskillen through Lisnaskea towards Clones and the County Monaghan border. The village is compact and the church and hall are within walking distance of the main street, with parking on and around the site.

Translink Ulsterbus services running between Enniskillen and Clones or Cavan stop in Newtownbutler, which makes a daytime Saturday event more reachable by public transport than most rural parish fixtures in the county. Drivers coming from the south should note the border crossing is only a few miles further on, so satnavs occasionally route through Monaghan roads.
