At Moat Theatre · Abbey Road, Naas, Co. Kildare
Kevin Doyle fronts The Way It Was Orchestra for an Elvis Presley tribute at the Moat Theatre on Saturday 12 September 2026. The show is pitched at the Vegas era of Presley’s career, with a full band rather than a small backing group, and works through the classics from the rock and roll years into the later ballads.
The orchestral format is the point of difference here. Where most Elvis tributes travel with a four or five piece band, this one builds the arrangements around a larger ensemble, which suits the brass-heavy charts of the 1969 to 1977 Las Vegas shows. The Moat’s single auditorium keeps the sound contained and the audience close. It is one of a pair of back-to-back music nights at the theatre that weekend, with Legends of American Country following on Sunday 13 September, so a double booking is possible if country and rock and roll are both to your taste. Tickets are €32 plus a booking fee.
Naas is directly off the M7, roughly 35 km south-west of Dublin, and signposted from the motorway junctions. The Moat Theatre sits on Abbey Road, close to the main street, with town centre car parks a short walk away. Regular bus services link Dublin city centre with Naas. Sallins and Naas railway station, on the Dublin Heuston commuter line, is about 4 km from the theatre and taxis are usually available.
