Durga Puja 2026 - 5 Days in Dublin

Durga Puja 2026 is a five-day Bengali cultural celebration at the Commercial Rowing Club in Islandbridge, Dublin 8, organised by the Ireland Durgotsab Committee. It runs from Friday, 16 October to Wednesday, 21 October 2026, nightly from 6pm to 10pm, and marks the committee’s ninth year running the festival in Dublin.

What to expect

Each night brings religious rituals and prayers alongside a cultural programme of classical and Bollywood dance, music, instrumental performances and sit-and-draw activities for children. Two bhog (food offering) preparations are made each day, and prasad, offered as a contribution rather than a fixed charge, is served as part of the evening. The wider ritual calendar around the festival starts earlier, with Mahalaya on Sunday, 10 October, and continues after this five-day programme with Kojagori Lakshmi Puja on 28 October, so the five days at the Commercial Rowing Club sit at the heart of a longer religious calendar rather than standing alone. The committee has previously been recognised for Best Venue, Rituals and Safety Measures, and marking a ninth year running the festival in Dublin means an established, experienced team behind the programme rather than a first-time event.
