Ireland v Argentina - Nations Championship

At Aviva Stadium · Lansdowne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4

Rugby match underway in front of a full stadium crowd

Ireland take on Argentina at the Aviva Stadium in Ballsbridge on Friday 6 November 2026, one of the men’s autumn fixtures in the 2026 Nations Championship. The Pumas have a long, competitive history against Ireland and regularly test the home side with a physical, unpredictable style of play, making this one of the trickier fixtures in Irish rugby’s home autumn window.

What to expect

Expect a full house, a loud stadium and an Argentina side that plays with real intensity up front. Ireland have built their autumn campaigns in recent years around a settled matchday squad and a fast-paced attacking game, and a floodlit November night at the Aviva tends to bring out the best in the home crowd. Arrive in good time, since the approach roads and the DART get busy in the hour before kick-off on international match nights.

Getting there

Aviva Stadium sits on Lansdowne Road in Ballsbridge, one of the best-connected grounds in Dublin. The DART stops directly at Lansdowne Road station beside the stadium, making it the easiest way in and out on a match night. Dublin Bus routes serve the wider Ballsbridge area, and there is no general parking at the stadium itself, so public transport is strongly recommended over driving.

While you’re in Ballsbridge

Ballsbridge has a good spread of pubs and restaurants around Lansdowne Road and Baggot Street that fill up before kick-off, so booking a table in advance is worth it on a big match night. Herbert Park is close by for a walk beforehand if you arrive early, and the area’s hotels make it a convenient base for anyone travelling to Dublin just for the match.
