Bodytonic and Absys Records bring drum and bass producer Photek to The Racket Space in Drumcondra for a four hour late night set. Photek has been producing since 1994 and is one of the genre’s established names, having released on Virgin Records and worked alongside figures including James Lavelle and Goldie across a career that helped shape British jungle and drum and bass. This suits electronic music fans and regular clubbers looking for a proper club night rather than a casual bar gig.
The show runs from 11:00pm through to 3:00am, powered by Injector Sound, with Photek’s own production described by the promoters as pushing “both his sounds and fans’ expectations to the outermost limits.” The Racket Space is a dedicated club room next door to The Bernard Shaw, built for exactly this kind of late, sound focused night rather than a general bar crowd. Expect a proper club setup with a full length set from Photek rather than a short guest slot between other acts, plus support from the promoters’ own resident DJs either side of the headline set.
