At An Grianán Theatre · Port Road, Letterkenny, County Donegal
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
Encore Productions bring an adaptation of Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales to An Grianán Theatre in Letterkenny on Wednesday, 11 November 2026, with a 1pm start.
An Grianán’s listing credits the production to Encore Productions and sets it in a 14th century pub, where twenty strangers meet as pilgrims bound for Canterbury and take turns telling stories: whether the thieves escape death, the cockerel outwits the fox, the Carpenter’s Wife takes a lover and the Bold Knight learns what women really want. The venue’s page does not give a running time, so anyone wanting a fuller preview should check An Grianán’s own event page ahead of booking.
An Grianán Theatre is on Port Road in Letterkenny, Donegal’s largest town and its main arts venue, within walking distance of the town centre and bus station. The box office is on 074 91 20777, open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5pm, for directions or access queries before the show. Letterkenny is served by Bus Éireann routes from across Donegal and from Derry, as well as by car via the N13, N14 and N56.
Letterkenny is Donegal’s county town, with Main Street running up to St Eunan’s Cathedral and a riverside walk along the Swilly close to the theatre. An early-afternoon midweek slot at €5.50 a ticket puts this at the accessible end of An Grianán’s programme. More on Letterkenny and Co. Donegal.
