At The Abbey Hotel · The Diamond, Donegal Town, Co. Donegal, F94 AP8W
Club 30 Plus brings its over-30s club night to The Abbey Hotel on the Diamond in Donegal Town on Saturday 24 October 2026. The whole premise is a nightclub that finishes when a normal night out would be starting: doors at 5pm, last dance at 9pm, home at a sensible hour. It is aimed squarely at people who still want a proper dancefloor but have long since stopped wanting a 3am taxi queue.
The music is 80s, 90s and 00s, played by a DJ across the four hours. The organisers run it as a full production rather than a disco in a function room, with a smoke machine and pyro, disco balls, confetti drops, inflatables, glow sticks and giveaways through the night. It is the same format the promoter runs in other towns, brought to a Donegal Town date.
Tickets are sold in advance through Eventbrite and the organisers operate a no-refunds policy, so it is worth being certain of the date before booking. The Abbey Hotel is a long-standing entertainment venue in the town, better known locally for its country music weekends, which makes an over-30s club night a change of register for the room rather than its usual programme.
The Abbey Hotel is on the Diamond, the central square of Donegal Town, so it is a short walk from anywhere in the town centre and from the bus stop on the Diamond itself. Donegal Town sits on the N15 between Ballyshannon and Ballybofey, with the N56 running west towards Killybegs, and it is roughly 70km from Sligo and 60km from Letterkenny. There are public car parks a few minutes’ walk from the square. Because the night finishes at 9pm, evening Bus Eireann services from the Diamond towards Sligo, Letterkenny and Dublin are still an option, which is not usually the case for a club night.
