Donegal LGFA Junior B Football Championship 2026 - Round 2

What to Expect

Junior B is where the second teams of the bigger Donegal ladies clubs meet the smaller single-team clubs. Seven sides are in the 2026 competition: An Clochán Liath, Aodh Ruadh, Red Hughs, St Eunan’s, Burt, Milford and Letterkenny Gaels. The group series runs over five Sunday mornings from 9 August to 6 September, with most games throwing in at 10:30 AM, and round 2 falls on Sunday 16 August.

Round 1 on Sunday 9 August had An Clochán Liath hosting Aodh Ruadh’s second team, Red Hughs at home to the St Eunan’s second team at Monellan Park and Burt taking on Milford. The grade gets very little coverage but it is where a good number of Donegal club players get their first competitive adult football, and admission is a couple of euro at the gate if it is charged at all.

• Gate admission only, no advance ticketing
• Confirm the throw-in on donegalgaa.ie, as junior fixtures are the most likely to move

Getting There

Father Tierney Park is beside the town centre in Ballyshannon on the N15, about 25 minutes from Bundoran and 30 from Donegal town. Páirc na nGael, home of Letterkenny Gaels, is on the Glencar side of Letterkenny and is the easiest of the three to reach by public transport, with Bus Eireann and Local Link services into the town from Derry, Sligo and Dublin. An Clochán Liath, or Dungloe, is out on the N56 in the Rosses, about 50 minutes west of Letterkenny. All three grounds have free parking.
