Weekly Eucharistic Adoration, St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs

At St Mary of the Visitation Church · St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs, Co. Donegal

St Mary of the Visitation Church overlooking Killybegs harbour, County Donegal

What to Expect

The Parish of Killybegs keeps a long weekly period of Eucharistic Adoration in the Adoration Room at St Mary of the Visitation Church. It opens at 6pm on Sunday evening and runs right through until midnight on Monday, giving parishioners and visitors a thirty hour window for quiet prayer. People come and go as suits them, so there is no need to stay for a set length of time and no need to book. The next session in the series begins on Sunday 16 August 2026.

Killybegs is Ireland’s largest fishing port and the parish church sits above the harbour, so the Adoration Room draws crews and shore workers on shifts as well as regular parishioners. The parish runs a Liturgy of the Word for Children every Sunday at 11am, and Confessions are heard on Saturdays at 6.30pm. The Niall Mór Centre in the town hosts two support groups tied into parish life, with Alcoholics Anonymous meeting on Fridays at 8.30pm and Al-Anon on Wednesdays at 8pm.
