What to Expect

Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce runs TikTok Your Business on Tuesday 8 September 2026 in the Lecture Theatre at CoLab on the ATU Letterkenny campus. Registration and tea or coffee are from 10am, with the workshop itself running from 10.30am to 11.30am.

The session is led by Joleene McDermott, a hospitality and tourism marketing specialist, who walks through her own process for researching, creating and distributing short form video. Her content has reached up to 1.2 million views, with several individual pieces landing between 10,000 and 350,000 views, and the workshop is built around what she has learned about why some posts travel and others do not. The emphasis is on adapting the format authentically to your own business rather than buying expensive equipment or learning heavy editing, which makes it aimed squarely at small operators doing their own marketing.

Getting There

CoLab is on the ATU Letterkenny campus on the Port Road, on the eastern approach to the town from the N13 and the Derry direction. From the south, follow the N15 through Ballybofey to Letterkenny and then signs for ATU or the former LYIT. There is parking on the campus. Letterkenny bus centre is about fifteen minutes on foot, and several Bus Eireann and Local Link services stop on the Port Road close to the campus entrance.
