What to Expect

Culture Night 2026 falls on Friday 18 September, and County Wexford takes part alongside every other county on the island. The format is the same each year: galleries, studios, libraries, museums, heritage sites and workshops open their doors outside normal hours, from 4pm until late, and everything on the programme is free to attend. No ticket is needed for most events, although a handful of workshops and guided tours cap numbers and ask you to reserve a place in advance.

Wexford’s programme is spread across the county’s municipal districts rather than concentrated in one place, with events in Enniscorthy, Gorey and Kilmuckridge, New Ross, Rosslare and Wexford town. Confirmed elements include a performance of Indian classical dance at Gorey Library from 4pm to 4.45pm, accompanied by musicians from the Indian Classical Music Society of Ireland, and a gallery talk at Wexford Arts Centre on the exhibition Memory of a Free Festival. Hook Lighthouse on the Hook Peninsula opens for the night with a programme built around its maritime heritage. Getting There

Wexford town holds the busiest cluster of venues and is walkable end to end, with the Arts Centre on Cornmarket a few minutes from the Quay car parks. Enniscorthy and Gorey both sit on the M11 and have Irish Rail stations on the Dublin to Rosslare Europort line, which helps if you plan to move between towns. New Ross is reached on the N25 from Wexford town or the R700 from Kilkenny. Town centre parking is generally free in the evening, but arrive early for the 4pm starts.
