The Courthouse Gallery and Studios Ennistymon - Autumn Exhibition Programme 2026

What to Expect

The Courthouse Gallery and Studios occupies a restored 1790 Georgian courthouse on Parliament Street in Ennistymon and runs as a professional contemporary art gallery with working artists’ studios in the same building. It shows in two spaces, the Main Gallery on the ground floor and the smaller Redcouch Gallery, which means two exhibitions are usually up at once and the pairings change every few weeks. Entry is free and the gallery opens Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Four exhibitions carry the autumn and early winter programme. Veiled Realms by Brian Kielt opens in the Redcouch Gallery on 21 August and runs to 2 October, examining how lived experience surfaces indirectly in a picture. The Rogue’s Gallery by Conor Walton takes the Main Gallery from 28 August to 10 October, turning portraiture on human-made systems. Transmissions, a group show by Elizabeth Fox, Frances Hennigan and Sinead Keogh, runs from 9 October to 21 November in the Redcouch Gallery and at offsite locations. Flesh and Stone, with Vanessa Jones, Margaret Fitzgibbon and Edwina Bracken, closes the year in the Main Gallery from 16 October to 3 December. This follows the gallery’s 2026 Summer Open, which finished on 12 August after showing more than 100 artists under guest curator Sarah Fuller.

Getting There

Ennistymon is on the N85, about 35 km north-west of Ennis and 5 km inland from Lahinch. The gallery is on Parliament Street, the main street through the town, with on-street parking outside and further parking in the town centre. Coming from the Cliffs of Moher or Doolin, take the R478 and R481 south; from Galway, use the N67 through Ballyvaughan and Lisdoonvarna. Bus Eireann runs daily services between Ennis, Ennistymon, Lahinch and Doolin, stopping in the town centre a short walk from the door.
