At Cyprus Avenue · Caroline Street, Cork City, Co. Cork
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
DJ Jean plays a late club set at Cyprus Avenue on a Saturday night in November, one of the bigger-ticket DJ bookings on the venue’s autumn club calendar. Cyprus Avenue’s main room switches from its usual live music setup to a full club rig for nights like this, with a sound system built for a room that has hosted touring bands on the same stage most other nights of the year.
Doors open at 11pm for a set running well into the early hours. Expect house and dance-focused programming aimed squarely at a late crowd rather than an early-evening audience, with Cyprus Avenue’s main floor given over entirely to dancing for the night rather than split between stage and bar as it is for a gig. Entry is €22, reflecting the bigger booking compared with the venue’s regular weekly club nights, and the show is likely to draw a crowd from beyond Cork city given the wider following DJ bookings of this size tend to attract.
Cyprus Avenue is on Caroline Street, just off MacCurtain Street on the north bank of the Lee, a 10-minute walk from Patrick Street. Cork Kent Station is about 15 minutes on foot, and city buses and Bus Eireann coaches both serve the centre. Multi-storey parking is available nearby on Lavitt’s Quay, and taxis are easy to find in the area late at night.
MacCurtain Street’s bars and restaurants make a good start to the evening, with the English Market and city centre a short walk south across the river. There is more to see in Cork and across Co. Cork.
