Trad for Trocaire Culture Night Seisiun at Cois na hAbhna

At Cois na hAbhna · Galway Road, Ennis, Co. Clare, V95 V020

Traditional musicians playing together at a Comhaltas seisiun

What to Expect

Cois na hAbhna marks Culture Night 2026 with a free seisiun in the Teach Cheoil on Friday 18 September, running from 8pm to 10pm. The evening is built around traditional Irish music, song, dance and storytelling, and the venue is explicit that this is a participatory night rather than a concert: audience participation is welcomed at all levels, ages and abilities. If you play, bring the instrument.

Cois na hAbhna is the regional headquarters of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann on the Galway Road in Ennis, and the Teach Cheoil is its music room, the space where the county’s weekly classes, sessions and recordings happen. Complimentary refreshments are served during the night. Donations in aid of Trocaire are invited but entirely optional, and admission itself is free.

Culture Night runs nationwide on the same evening, with venues across Clare opening late and free of charge, so this pairs naturally with the rest of the county programme. Anyone new to Irish traditional music will find this an easier entry point than a crowded pub session, because the room is set up for listening as well as playing.
