Ralph McTell: Somewhere Down The Road at glor, Ennis

At glor · Causeway Link, Ennis, Co. Clare

Folk singer and guitarist performing a seated theatre concert

What to Expect

Ralph McTell plays glor in Ennis on Thursday 5 November 2026 as part of Somewhere Down The Road, described by the venue as his final national tour. It is a landmark date in a career that has run more than five decades and produced “Streets of London”, the song that made him a household name and won him an Ivor Novello Award. The Ennis show runs to 120 minutes including an interval.

The tour is tied to a new album that reworks McTell’s Irish-connected compositions with Irish artists, set alongside newly written material. That gives the evening a particular relevance for an Irish audience: this is not a straight greatest-hits run-through but a songwriter revisiting the work that has travelled between England and Ireland across his career, and adding to it. Expect a seated, listening-room atmosphere in glor’s main auditorium.

The date lands in the same week as Ennis Trad Fest, which takes over the town’s pubs and venues from 5 to 9 November, so the town will be full of musicians and visitors. Booking early is sensible on both counts.
