At Pot Duggan's · New Road, Ennistymon, Co. Clare
Pot Duggan’s in Ennistymon hosts Paahto & The Bull on Saturday 24 October 2026, an 8:30pm start with the night running through to about 11:30pm. Paahto & The Bull is the guitar-duo project of Patrick “Paahto” Cummins and John Francis Flynn, two players better known for their work elsewhere in Irish traditional and folk music. Flynn in particular has built a reputation for taking traditional song somewhere less predictable, and the duo format strips things back to two guitars.
This is a small-room show on the New Road in Ennistymon, the same venue that hosts Smithereens earlier in the month. Pot Duggan’s has carved out a niche in North Clare for touring original and folk acts, which sits a little apart from the pub sessions the area is better known for. Expect a seated-and-standing mix and a crowd there to listen.
Tickets go through Eventbrite. The listing notes that no refunds are offered for this show, so check the date before you buy. The gig falls on the Saturday of the October bank holiday weekend, when North Clare is busy, and it is worth sorting accommodation in Ennistymon or Lahinch at the same time as tickets.
Ennistymon sits on the N85 in North Clare, roughly 25 km north-west of Ennis and 3 km from the beach at Lahinch. Pot Duggan’s is on the New Road, near the top of Main Street. There is on-street parking and a public car park close to the Inagh River bridge and the cascades. Bus Eireann routes 350 and 333 connect Ennistymon with Ennis, Lahinch, Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher during the day, but late services are limited on a bank holiday weekend, so plan a lift or stay locally.
