What to Expect

Ceol Faoin gCrann translates as music under the tree, and that is the literal shape of this Halloween night event at Failte Field in Donogrogue, near Killimer in West Clare. Three acts play original folk and traditional song beneath a large pine on Saturday 31 October 2026, from 7:30pm to 11pm. The line-up is Kilkelly, Rufus Coates & Jess Smith, and Branwen.

A bonfire marks Halloween night after the music. The organisers note that camping is available for anyone travelling a distance, which is a sensible offer given the location on the Shannon Estuary, well away from the towns. This is an outdoor event on the last night of October in the west of Ireland, so proper boots, layers and a raincoat are not optional extras.

Getting There

Killimer is in West Clare on the N67, about 8 km east of Kilrush and roughly 60 km from Ennis. The village is best known as the Clare terminal for the Shannon Ferry, which crosses to Tarbert in County Kerry and runs hourly through the day, so the site is reachable from North Kerry without the long drive around through Limerick. Donogrogue is a townland just outside the village. There is no public transport of use for a night event here, so drive or arrange a lift, and follow the organiser’s directions on the ticket page for the field entrance and parking.
