What to Expect

All That Is Tangled Will Be Unravelled is Grace McCaffrey’s MA graduate exhibition at Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, on show from 15 to 28 August 2026 in the Barn Studios and the Project Room. The exhibition opens on Saturday 15 August with a reception from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and admission is free throughout.

Burren College of Art occupies the grounds of Newtown Castle at the foot of the Burren limestone, and it runs a full postgraduate programme alongside its residencies and studio courses. A graduate show there is a chance to see a body of work made over a full academic year in one of the more unusual places in Ireland to study art, with the Burren itself sitting in front of the studio windows. The college states that all its exhibitions are open to the public free of charge. Because the show occupies studio spaces rather than the main gallery, expect a working-space hang: installation and process material alongside finished pieces.

Getting There

Burren College of Art is at Newtown Castle, roughly two kilometres south of Ballyvaughan village on the road towards Corkscrew Hill and Lisdoonvarna. There is parking on the college grounds. Ballyvaughan sits on the N67 coast road on Galway Bay: about 45 minutes from Galway city by way of Kinvara, an hour from Ennis through Kilfenora and Corofin, and 25 minutes from Lisdoonvarna over the Corkscrew Hill. The Corkscrew is steep and tight in places, so allow more time than the distance suggests. Public transport to Ballyvaughan is limited to a small number of seasonal bus services, so nearly all visitors drive.
