What to Expect

No Pressure is Gearoid Farrelly’s newest hour of stand-up, written after a run of difficult personal experiences and shaped into a set about the absurdities of modern life. The show circles the pressure to look after yourself properly, the industry that has grown up around self-care, and the argument for accepting that you are never going to get all of it right. Farrelly’s style is observational and tightly written rather than loud, built on precise turns of phrase and long-running gags rather than crowd work, which suits the scale of the room at glor. Sarah Millican has described the show as “Bloody hilarious”, and fellow comedian Joanne McNally has named it her favourite.

Farrelly has been working as a stand-up for years, with television appearances behind him and support slots for Joan Rivers and Sarah Millican on his touring record. He also hosts the interview podcast Fascinated, in which he talks to figures from entertainment and beyond about the things that grip them. The Ennis date is presented by Lisa Richards as part of a wider Irish run, so it is a single visit rather than a residency. The show carries an age guidance of 16 and over, and it is a seated performance in the main auditorium at glor.

Getting There

glor sits on Causeway Link, a short walk from Ennis town centre and from the bus and rail station at the edge of the town. Bus Eireann routes from Limerick, Galway and Shannon Airport all serve Ennis, and the Limerick to Ennis rail line stops in the town, so the venue can be reached without a car. Drivers coming off the M18 should follow signs for Ennis town centre. There is parking at the venue and several town car parks are within a few minutes’ walk.
