Emma Doran: Emmaculate

At glor Irish Music Centre · Causeway Link, Ennis, Co. Clare

Stand-up comedian addressing a theatre audience

What to Expect

Emmaculate is Emma Doran’s latest touring show and it works the ground she is best known for: the day-to-day trials of a blended family, womanhood, and the relationships that come with both. The set is built on observational material, on-stage antics and the conspiratorial, gossipy tone that has carried her podcast work, and it leans on recognisable domestic detail rather than shock. Reviewers have given the show four stars, with one describing it as end-to-end laughs.

Doran came to a wide audience through short online videos before moving into television and touring, and she has since appeared on LOL: Last One Laughing and The Late Late Show. Her 2024 book Mad, Isn’t It? covered similar territory in print, and she currently co-hosts the podcast Keep It Tight with Deirdre O’Kane. The Ennis show carries an age guidance of 14 and over, which is lower than most stand-up dates at the venue, so it is one of the few comedy nights at glor that older teenagers can attend. Note that glor has a second Emmaculate date in the diary for April 2027, so the October night is not the only chance to catch the show in Ennis.
