At glor · Causeway Link, Ennis, Co. Clare

Participants of different ages taking part in a group dance workshop

What to Expect

Undercurrent Performance run this free 90-minute dance workshop at glor in Ennis on Thursday 17 September 2026, starting at 10:00 AM. It follows the company’s stage show Earthfall at the same venue the night before, and it is built as an intergenerational session rather than a class for trained dancers. glor list it as suitable for all ages with no previous experience needed.

The session opens with inclusive meet and greet warm-up games, then moves through short introductions to African dance, hip-hop and Passinho, the Brazilian street style. Participants are then taught Irish sean-nos technique before the group moves into a circle dance. The last part of the morning is a cultural dance share, where anyone attending can bring a style of their own to the floor. Participants are welcome to bring recordings of their own cultural music to share during that open section. The four facilitators are Kate Wilson, Cynthia Siberry (Ireland and Zimbabwe), Josue Reis (Ireland and Brazil) and August Kirwin (Ireland and Canada).

Drivers should leave the M18 at an Ennis exit and follow the N85 or the signs for the arts centre; there is parking on Causeway Link and in the town centre car parks. A 10:00 AM start means arriving during the weekday morning peak, so allow a little extra time for town-centre traffic.
