Christy Moore at Vicar Street

Christy Moore is back at Vicar Street for five nights this November: Sunday 1, Sunday 8, Monday 16, Monday 23 and Monday 30 November 2026, at 8:00pm. From Planxty and Moving Hearts to five decades of solo work, he has soundtracked Irish life like no one else, and Vicar Street is his spiritual home.

What to expect

Just Christy, a guitar and a bodhran, working through a back catalogue that includes ‘Ride On’, ‘The Voyage’, ‘City of Chicago’, ‘Ordinary Man’ and ‘Lisdoonvarna’. Five nights at the same venue gives a sense of how big a following he still commands: this is a room that knows every word before he sings it. Tickets for all five dates are on sale now through Ticketmaster via the Vicar Street listing, and shows like these have a habit of moving fast, so it’s worth booking rather than waiting.

Getting there

Vicar Street is at 58-59 Thomas Street, Dublin 8, in the Liberties, close to Christ Church Cathedral and the Guinness Storehouse. The venue has a seated capacity of 1,050 and a standing capacity of 1,500, has been open since 1998 and was extended in 2002; these shows are expected to be seated, in keeping with past Christy Moore nights at the venue.

While you’re in Dublin

Thomas Street and the Liberties have plenty of bars and restaurants around Vicar Street for before or after the show, and the area rewards a wander if you’ve time to spare either side of the gig. There is more to see across Co. Dublin.
