At Sigginstown Castle · Sigginstown, Tomhaggard, Co. Wexford, Y35 XK7D
Castles and Contracts is a live action role play weekend staged in and around Sigginstown Castle, the sixteenth-century tower house near Tomhaggard in south Wexford. LARP events put participants in character for the duration rather than seating them as an audience, and a restored tower house with a walled yard, outbuildings and open ground around it is the kind of site these events are usually built for. The event runs across three days, from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October 2026.
The event is run by Irish LARPers in partnership with Hearthfire Media and is set in the Empire LRP game world, with a scenario built around two competing families vying for control of Kurhaz Keep. Player tickets are €80 and child tickets €30. Registration in advance is mandatory: the castle does not admit walk-in visitors that weekend and its usual tours do not run. Players can camp on the castle grounds or book accommodation elsewhere in south Wexford, and a cafe operates on site during the event with meal packages available to buy in advance.
Sigginstown Castle sits on the Norman Way in south Wexford, between Tomhaggard and Kilmore, about thirty minutes by car from Wexford town and twenty minutes from Rosslare Europort. The approach roads are narrow country lanes and are unlit after dark, which matters for an event running across three evenings. Parking is in a field beside the castle. There is no public transport to the door, so drive or arrange a taxi from Wexford town or Rosslare.
