What to Expect

The Carlow U16 Football Championship runs across three divisions, which is how a small county keeps clubs of very different sizes in meaningful games rather than one-sided ones. Division 1 gathers the strongest underage football clubs, Division 2 takes in second teams and mid-sized clubs, and Division 3 handles the smallest panels and amalgamations. Every game is played on a club pitch on a weekday evening with a 7.30pm throw-in.

The next fixture is Tinryland v Grange in Division 2 at Tinryland on Wednesday 12 August 2026. The main round follows on Thursday 20 August, when nine games throw in together at 7.30pm. Division 1 has Naomh Eoin v Rathvilly at Myshall, Eire Og v Palatine at Pairc Ui Bhriain, and Kildavin/Clonegal v St Martins at Spellman Park. Division 2 has Palatine v Clonmore at Palatine, Tinryland v Bagenalstown Gaels at Tinryland, St Patrick’s v Fenagh at Br. Leo Park, and Grange v Mount Leinster Rangers at Grange. Getting There

Tinryland is a village just south-east of Carlow town, a few minutes’ drive on the R724 with parking at the club grounds. The wider round spreads across the county: Pairc Ui Bhriain and Br. Leo Park are in or beside Carlow town, Myshall and Spellman Park are in the south-east near the Blackstairs and the Wexford border, Palatine sits north-west of the town off the R417, and Paul Monahan Park is at Old Leighlin. Carlow town is on the M9 about an hour from Dublin; the rural grounds all need a car, and the Carlow GAA fixtures page lists the exact venue for each game.
