What to Expect

Under-14 is the grade where Carlow’s hurling clubs field their first properly settled teams, and unlike most underage football in the county it runs largely on Sunday mornings rather than midweek evenings. That makes the U14 hurling round the most spectator-friendly underage fixture on the calendar: daylight throw-ins, four games starting together at 11am, and a fifth at 12.15pm, so families can watch without a school-night rush.

The Sunday 16 August 2026 programme has Setanta Ceatharlach v Kildavin/Clonegal at the Setanta grounds, Burren Rangers v Carlow Town Hurling Club at Kilbride, Naomh Brid v Naomh Eoin at the Naomh Brid grounds, and Bagenalstown Gaels v Mount Leinster Rangers at McGrath Park, all at 11am, with Naomh Moling v Ballinkillen at Naomh Moling at 12.15pm. The round then continues with Kildavin/Clonegal v Mount Leinster Rangers at Ben Mulhall Park on Tuesday 18 August at 7.45pm and Kildavin/Clonegal v Burren Rangers at Spellman Park on Thursday 20 August at 11am. Getting There

McGrath Park is in Bagenalstown, also known as Muine Bheag, on the River Barrow about 15km south of Carlow town via the R705, and the town has its own station on the Dublin Heuston to Waterford railway line. Kilbride is in the north of the county, Spellman Park is at Kildavin in the south-east near the Wexford border, and Naomh Moling is in the far south along the Barrow around Glynn and St Mullins. Carlow town is on the M9 about an hour from Dublin. All the rural club grounds need a car, with parking on site.
