What to Expect

Minister of State Jennifer Murnane O’Connor holds a constituency clinic every second Wednesday at the Family Resource Centre on the Royal Oak Road in Bagenalstown, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. The clinic series began on Wednesday 18 March 2026 and has run on a fortnightly cycle since.

A TD clinic is a walk in surgery. Constituents bring whatever they need help with, most commonly housing applications and repairs, social protection payments, medical cards, planning issues, school places and problems with a local authority or a state agency that have stalled. There is no appointment system and no charge. You wait your turn, you explain the problem, and a member of staff takes the details and follows up.

Bagenalstown is one of several clinic locations across the Carlow and Kilkenny constituency, and the Family Resource Centre is a familiar and accessible venue on the Royal Oak Road.

Getting There

Bagenalstown, also known as Muine Bheag, is on the R705 roughly 15km south of Carlow town and about 8km from the M9 at junction 7. The Royal Oak Road runs out of the town towards the Royal Oak crossroads on the R448. The town has its own railway station on the Dublin Heuston to Waterford line, a few minutes from the centre, which makes the clinic reachable without a car from Carlow, Athy, Kilkenny and Waterford. There is on-street and off-street parking around the Royal Oak Road and the town centre.
