Carlow Under 12 Hurling Mini League 2026

What to Expect

The Cental Under 12 Hurling Mini League is the county board’s competition for Carlow’s youngest hurling teams, and it runs across two groups, Red and Green, on the small pitches and back fields of clubs the length of the county. Games are played at club grounds rather than at Netwatch Cullen Park, which means Ballinkillen, Naomh Moling, Naomh Brid at the Superbowl, Mount Leinster Rangers and Carlow Town Hurling Club all host during the run. Admission is free and nothing is ticketed.

The next block of games falls on Saturday 15 August. In the Red group, Naomh Moling host Burren Rangers, Ballinkillen host Setanta Ceatharlach and Carlow Town Hurling Club host Kildavin and Clonegal, all at 2.15pm. The Green group follows on the same afternoon with Mt Leinster Rangers against Barrow Rangers at 2.30pm and Naomh Brid against Burren Rangers at the Superbowl at 3.30pm. The Red group then has Setanta Ceatharlach against Carlow Town Hurling Club at Presentation College Asca on Sunday 23 August at 6.30pm. Underage fixtures move more than adult ones, since they are rescheduled around school and club commitments and around weather, so the Carlow GAA fixtures page is the only reliable place to check a throw-in time on the morning of a game.

Getting There

Carlow is a compact county and no club ground in the competition is much more than half an hour from Carlow town. Carlow Town Hurling Club and Presentation College Asca are in the town itself, while Ballinkillen, Naomh Moling at Glynn, Naomh Brid and Mount Leinster Rangers at Borris sit in the south of the county along the R705 and R702 through the Barrow valley. Club grounds have their own parking, usually free and usually on grass, and there is effectively no public transport to rural pitches, so plan on driving.
