Carlow Under 12 Football Mini League 2026

What to Expect

The Cental Under 12 Football Mini League is the broadest juvenile competition on the Carlow GAA calendar, wide enough to need three groups, Red, Yellow and Green. Almost every football club in the county fields a team, from Eire Og and Palatine in and around Carlow town out to Fenagh, Rathvilly, Tinryland, Kildavin and Clonegal, Naomh Moling, Grange, Railyard, Michael Davitts, St Martins, St Patrick’s, Naomh Eoin, O’Hanrahans, Bagenalstown Gaels and Mt Leinster Rangers. Games are played at club grounds, admission is free and there is no ticketing.

The next run of fixtures opens on Monday 17 August with Mt Leinster Rangers against Eire Og at 7.15pm. Wednesday 19 August brings four 7pm games: St Martins against Bagenalstown Gaels at Ballon, St Patrick’s against Rathvilly at Br. Leo Park, Michael Davitts against Palatine at Old Leighlin and Naomh Moling against Kildavin and Clonegal. The busiest day is Saturday 22 August, which runs from 11am through to mid-afternoon with Red group games at Kilbride, Pairc Ui Bhriain and Mount Leinster Rangers, Yellow group games at Palatine, Pairc Ui Bhriain and Br. Leo Park from 12.15pm, and the Green group out at 2.15pm with Fenagh against O’Hanrahans at J.J. Hogan Memorial Park, Eire Og against Naomh Eoin, Rathvilly against Tinryland at Fr Ryan Park and Kildavin and Clonegal against Grange. Bagenalstown Gaels host Rathvilly at McGrath Park at 3pm, and the block closes with Eire Og against Michael Davitts on Wednesday 26 August at 6.15pm.

Getting There

Venues are spread the width of the county but nothing is far. Pairc Ui Bhriain (Eire Og) and Br. Leo Park are in or beside Carlow town, Palatine, Ballon and Kilbride sit along the N80 and R725 corridors to the east, Old Leighlin and McGrath Park in Bagenalstown are south on the R705, and J.J. Hogan Memorial Park at Fenagh and Mount Leinster Rangers at Borris are further south again. Club grounds have their own parking and it is free. There is no useful bus service to rural pitches on a weekday evening, so drive.
