At VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art · Old Dublin Road, Carlow, Co. Carlow, R93 A3K1
Connie Byrne runs a Saturday morning yoga class at VISUAL Carlow, held in the Link Gallery rather than a studio, which is the draw as much as the practice. The class is Vinyasa Flow, described by the venue as working towards balance and calm and supporting the nervous system, and it runs for an hour from 10:00am.
Booking is per session rather than per term, so it works for people who cannot commit to a block, and there is no requirement to have done Vinyasa before. Participants bring their own mat. Byrne returned to VISUAL for the 2026 summer run, which began on 6 June and has three sessions left: 15, 22 and 29 August. Coming out of the class into a free gallery with three exhibitions open until 30 August makes a decent Saturday morning even without the yoga.
VISUAL is on the Old Dublin Road in the grounds of Carlow College, about a ten-minute walk from Tullow Street and the main town-centre car parks. Free on-site parking is available, and it is rarely busy at 10:00am on a Saturday. Carlow railway station on the Dublin Heuston to Waterford line is roughly fifteen minutes on foot, and Bus Eireann and JJ Kavanagh services from Dublin, Kilkenny and Waterford stop in the town centre.
