At Various venues across the ABC Borough · Armagh, Portadown, Lurgan and surrounding area, Co. Armagh
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
Positive Ageing Month runs throughout October 2026 across the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, with council-organised events for adults aged 50 and over.
The council is billing this year’s programme as a “month of fundays,” with activities spanning sport, exercise, arts, entertainment, health, cooking, crafts and tea dances. Events are held in Armagh, Portadown, Lurgan, Banbridge, Dromore and in local villages and rural centres across the borough, aimed at helping people aged 50 and over try something new and stay connected with their community. Because the programme runs across so many towns and rural centres at once, the exact timetable for any one venue is best confirmed directly with the council rather than assumed from the borough-wide listing. The council’s Age Friendly Team also produces an ABC Seniors Newsletter, available by phone or email, which carries the fuller programme alongside other services for older residents across the borough.
Venues vary by event and are spread across the borough. Contact the Age Friendly Officer for directions to a specific session.
Armagh, one of the towns hosting Positive Ageing Month events, is built around two hills, each topped by a cathedral called St Patrick’s. The Mall, once a racecourse, is now a Georgian-edged park in the city centre and an easy stop before or after a session nearby. See more of what’s on in Armagh and across Co. Armagh.
