Prime Cut Productions brings The Human Voice to The Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre in Armagh on Thursday, 12 November 2026, at 8pm.
Prime Cut Productions, an award-winning independent theatre company, stage this new version of Jean Cocteau’s The Human Voice, adapted by Darren Murphy. It is directed by Emma Jordan, whose credits include Little Brother, The Pillowman and The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and stars Nicky Harley, also known for The Beauty Queen of Leenane and Dancing at Lughnasa. The play is set in contemporary Belfast and follows a woman juggling love and work, as emotional demands from a desperate client interrupt the devastation of her final phone call with the lover who is leaving her. She is left to negotiate a difficult path between her private and public worlds. The listing carries an age guidance notice for strong language and adult themes, suitable for age 16 and over. The Stage praised Nicky Harley’s performance in the role, and View Digital described the production as hard-hitting and powerful. The show is staged in the venue’s studio theatre, which has an unreserved, tiered seating layout.
