At Armagh City Centre · Market Place, Armagh, Co. Armagh
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
The Armagh Georgian Festival runs from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 November 2026 across Armagh city centre, marking the city’s Georgian heritage with four days of markets, costumed street life and evening entertainment centred on Market Place.
The festival includes Northern Ireland’s largest festive artisan market, with stalls trading across the city centre through the four days. Costumed characters bring living history to the streets, recreating the atmosphere of Georgian-era Armagh, and a Georgian Light Show turns the evenings into what organisers describe as a celebration of the city’s heritage told through light, music and special effects.
Alongside the free street events, a number of ticketed experiences run through the weekend: a Georgian Banquet called Courting and Confections, Mock Trials staged at Armagh Courthouse, guided tours of the old gaol under the title Behind Bars, and a Georgian Wedding Breakfast. Each of these puts a dining, dramatic or historical spin on the festival’s 18th-century theme rather than simply repeating the free street programme. Booking for all of them opens through the festival’s own ticketing system at visitarmagh.com.
The festival is centred on Market Place, Armagh, Co. Armagh, in the heart of the city centre.
Armagh is built around two hills, each topped by a cathedral called St Patrick’s, about ten minutes apart on foot. The Mall, a racecourse until Archbishop Robinson bought it in 1773, is now a Georgian-edged park close to the festival area, with the courthouse and county museum facing onto it. Much of the Georgian city centre the festival takes over is Robinson’s doing too - he arrived as archbishop in 1765 and rebuilt the city around the library, the observatory and the Mall.
