Festive Botanical Printing at The Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre

Festive Botanical Printing is a mono-printing workshop at The Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre in Armagh on Friday, 13 November 2026, from 10am to 1:30pm.

What to expect

Tutor Ruth Osborne leads participants through mono-printing using seasonal foliage, showing how to apply inks and paints to natural materials to get a clean finish on linen artworks. Alongside the practical technique, the session covers some of the folklore attached to the foliage used and its links to festive-season traditions. There is time during the three-and-a-half-hour class to build up a range of printed pieces, which participants can later frame or turn into cards and gift tags. The workshop is pitched at beginners and all materials are supplied, so there is nothing to bring beforehand. Places are capped at ten, and it is suitable for ages 16 and up. With the session running in mid-November, the printed cards and gift tags participants take home line up neatly with the run-up to Christmas. It is listed by the venue as part of its adult workshop programme, alongside other craft sessions through the autumn.

Two miles west of the city, Navan Fort, or Eamhain Mhacha, was the royal seat of the Ulaid in the Iron Age and the setting for much of the Ulster Cycle of legends.
